Outreach Projects - Romania Update
Brian Hume, a member of our Congregational Committee, has travelled to Romania many times in the past five years and has worked with others to try to improve the life of children who have been abandoned. The two houses Brian and his team built have made a great difference to the lives of the 22 who now live in them.
By Romanian Law the young people will have to move out of these houses when they reach the age of 18 years so Brian and his friends are now planing to build 2 self contained apartments where hopefully the young people can be trained to live independently. When he was in Romania at the end of November 2006, he laid the sewers and he hopes to go out in the Spring of 2007 to erect the timber frame buildings which will be going out overland from Northern Ireland.
Brian deserves a great credit for continuining with this work, which is not without its problems and frustrations. Also, a personal financial outlay is involved. We must remember to pray for him and perhaps there are also practical ways we could help him.
